Nick's 1997 Toyota Chaser Tourer V (JZX100)
Getting a JZX100 was going to happen one day or another. It's been on my list of cars to buy for as long as I can remember. Watching videos on YouTube on the nightly street drifting and JZX100s being shown constantly hitting the limiter really sparked my interest.
Importing my JZX was made easy with the help from my buddy Elvin at AE86House. The dude really knows his stuff and kept me informed throughout the entire process! I couldn't be happier, and I can't wait for the next cars we bring into the states.
Elvin and the team at Quality Auto sourced this beautiful and clean 1997 Toyota Chaser Tourer V (JZX100) with only 71k miles. The OEM Paint is 6N9 which is the very popular Ebony Teal Pearl that everyone seems to love, want, or have! The car is an OEM 5-speed and did come with the great R154 transmission.
Besides that, the car came with a minimal number of modifications, like a VIP front table, a Works Bell Steering Wheel Hub, a GReddy Works Bell Rapfix II Quick Release, a Nardi x GReddy Steering Wheel, a GReddy Front Mount Intercooler Kit, and a Vertex Aero Kit for the JZX100 Chaser! So, to say the least, I got the perfect parts on this car that gave me the best starting line I could ask for!
Here are some pictures of the listing when it was in Japan!

The Chaser survived a long road trip from Long Beach, California to me in Sanford, NC. It felt good to have it home with me and to be able to see what I waited 2 months for! Needless to say I got very lucky with this car and the potential for this car was unreal!
Like some car guys, the first thing I do when I get a car is give it a good washing to see what I'm working with when it comes to my body and paint, as well to see if there are any leaks on the windows or deep scratches on the windows!
The car cleaned up extremely well and it looked to be in great condition and much better than what I was even expecting this car to be in. I guess luck was on my side!!!
Every time I buy a new vehicle there is some things that I do almost immediately. Those some things usually includes me getting new suspension and wheels for the car. As you can see from the delivery pictures, the ride height was ridiculously high and the car drove very stiff but at the same time had tons of body roll. It just so happened that I had wheels, tires, and Coilovers waiting for the car to arrive.
I went with Stance USA Coilovers. I have them on my FD3S RX7 and there is literally nothing better than these coilovers. I'm extremely pleased with their ride quality, product quality, customer service quality, and literally everything else. In my early 240 days, I have used just about every brand of coilover from Fortune Autos, Megan Racing, PBM, Tein, HKS, and a few other brands and no brand rides like these do!
You can't go wrong with these finishes! Nothing chips, nothing rusts, and they come with sleeves! I couldn't be happier!
I opted for the Super Low Option on my XR1s because I planned from the beginning to run 19" wheels since I wanted my car to be a little different than everyone else. The coilovers at almost their highest setting lowered the car quite a bit and I couldn't be happier! Immediately got rid of the gap and made those Short Sidewall 18s look fairly decent!
Now it's time for wheels!!!
Buying wheels is something I usually take a lot of time to do since I like to measure out the best specs that fit the car, my driving goals, and the look I'm aiming for!
